"Spirit" Talk Appropriate In The Workplace?



Many people think that talk of "SPIRIT", "SPIRIT POWER" and "SPIRITUAL PRACTICE"  is simply not suitable discussion in the workplace.  


This view ignores the most important resource of all human resources! 


Without DESIRE (a matter of spirit and not reason) and COMMITMENT (a matter of spirit and  not reason) and PASSION (again, a spirit matter) our efforts at work to conceive and implement change would be flat and lifeless.  


However, it is absolutely true that employers, employees, managers, laborers, administrators, even C-Level folks and CEO's bring their spirit with them when they come to work.  And I PROMISE YOU that the mood of that spirit, the strength of that spirit, the health of that spirit will make or break the productivity, ingenuity, and creativity - every single day.


Much has been made of the "ATTRACTION PRINCIPLE" and even the book, THE SECRET in recent years.  The book covers too much ground for me, but - it does shed a light in an important direction.  It points us to SPIRIT.  


The thing is, WE ARE ALL IN SALES.  Whether you are selling a product, service, team project, hope for change, a little idea or a big dream, or any other plan or idea - you are selling.  The first thing you have to sell is YOURSELF.  (The Kingdom is Within!) It is UNDENIABLE that it is with your SPIRIT and the INTENTIONS of Your Spirit that you either MAKE THE SALE or fail to make a sale.  When you bring the right SPIRIT, then the universe and all within it, including the participants in the human realm will respond in the direction you wish  


In professional sales, the real pro's selling high ticket products or personal services understand that it is not technical skill that wins the day.  It is emotion.  Empathy.  Caring.  A good mantra in sales is:  "Nobody knows how much you know until they know how much you care".  If they know you CARE they will like you and TRUST.  And if they TRUST then they will let you lead.  And if they let you lead, you can lead them to a SALE.


Perhaps the only sale you need to make is to get your team to BUY your latest productivity idea or marketing plan?  Perhaps you need your group or organization or community to BUY INTO greater cooperation and leave old conflicts or turf warss behind.  This is ALL going to go according to the SPIRIT of the people involved - starting with YOURS.
