I work with SPIRIT more than reason because I know, having learned mostly the hard way at first, that SPIRIT drives each of us more than reason. I am not unreasonable, nor against reason. In fact, I spend most of my life reasoning. But I am working on changing that! One day I hope to say I have spent most of my life as a HUMAN BEING instead of a Human Doing.
I am married to a wonderful spirit who chose to be my wife 18 years ago - and every day since. We have 5 children, 2 dogs, 1 Ragdoll Cat, an African parrot, and a 70 Gallon Planted Tank of Discus Fish. Our gardens (mostly perennial) are a great joy to me. I like the finer things in life. I have traveled the world, visited great cathedrals and holy places, and seen some of the most amazing of art and performance art. But I also like it just fine in my modest home or a simple cottage with a grand view of nature.
The best part of life is watching my wife and children, spiritual children, bloom and grow and succeed in life. I hope that their success comes, at least in part, from some input of mine along the way. As husband, father, encourager, I have done the most important work of my life, have made mistakes, but also developed more perfectly the qualities of guiding, nurturing, loving, and being generative. These portions of my spirit path help me to be a great Spirit Coach today.
My first career spanned 20 years, in manufacturing / marketing of health and beauty products. I rose from factory floor to President and CEO. We dominated the market with a 75 share in USA and were growing to a 25 share in Europe. New products were launched, some succeeded and some did not. I wrote technical articles for my profession, gave classes at national conventions that were well received, and trained tens of thousands of students who then went on to take state licensing exams. We were profitable, well regarded, and I had a ball!
The best part was coaching employees to become more, achieve more than some of them ever dreamed. My employees, every one a person without advanced education, and many coming from difficult circumstances, were running the factory, managing global shipping, and manufacturing medical products with extremely high quality and tight specifications.
In my second career, I bet the farm on dotcom and watched it all turn to dotbomb. There was nothing I could do to turn that around. My spirit was crushed for a time. But I rallied, and discovered that Real Estate sales was a field that used all my skills in business, finance, marketing, sales, AND ONLINE skills as well. So I failed forward and lived the life of a Realtor, on a commission only basis, for 5 years.
During this time my primary focus was on the toughest part of Real Estate, which is prospecting and cold calling and listing For Sale By Owner (FSBO) prospects. I listed 50 of them or so in my first year in the business, and by the time I left, I was approaching 5 million a year in sales. However, my goal for the time was 10 million, so in the face of market trends that gave us the worst real estate market in over 50 years, I re-assessed. I have the utmost respect for members of this profession. When real estate tanked in the USA, I realized my 5 year plan was becoming a 10 year plan, and I made a simple choice to CREATE something that would work better for me and for the noble souls (other Realtors) whom I admired so much. Rather than stay in the trenches, I took a position launching a 24-hour real estate channel with companion web site, at the leading Cable Television provider in my area.
Again, looking backward, I see the wisdom of the spirit, in the life IT created for me. No REASON could have designed this path, and yet, I can draw a straight line through all the dots along the way: Manufacturing (creating) > Sales (creating) > Marketing (creating) > Online Marketing (creating) > E-Commerce (creating) > Multimedia Marketing (creating) > Search Engine Placement (creating) > Real Estate Marketing Online (creating) > Multimedia Real Estate Marketing (creating) , Television Marketing of Real Estate (creating) with Web Site featuing Web Video Component (creating). The best part was practicing as a marketing coach, and life coach along the way, helping others with online marketing or real estate sales until they grew in productivity to eclipse former heights, or to accomplish life long dreams.
Social media drew me from the early days of the WWW when I invented, in 1997, the first web forum for my industry. It came to be the number one web site, in that industry, world wide. Thousands of members traded professional advice. OF course, there were the usual jibs, jabs, and silliness of the online experience as well. As the found of the community and it's leader, I had a wonderful and rewarding experience.
OK - BUT.... WHO ARE YOU REALLY? HOW ARE YOU QUALIFIED TO BE A SPIRIT COACH? HOW DARE YOU SPEAK OF CLAIMING DIVINITY?
This blog springs from answering the question, in the 50th year of my life, "WHAT DO I WANT TO BE WHEN I GROW UP?"
The answer that comes, from deep in my spirit, has been the same for the last 10+ years. But this time I am going to do something about it. You are reading the beginning of this effort to live my dream.
I have been a puppet, a pauper, a poet and a king. A family leader, a business leader, a small group leader, a servant of the church, a happily married, man, a divorcee, and a single father. I have been the CEO of a world dominating company and the CEO of a failed dotcom business. I know the joy of success and the agony of defeat. My experiences may be offputting to some, but they have prepared me to share wise counsel and overpower negative spirits in many parts of life and business. I can use all of these experiences to help you avoid pain and accomplish more success.
What I will BE in this second life is a world changing motivational writer and speaker. That would not be simply a motivational speaker in the traditional business sense.
Inside of me there is a writer and teacher who wants to transform the world by sharing what I have learned about SPIRIT. Spirit Word LLC will be a labor of love all about the beauty and power and magnificence of the human spirit when fully empowered, prepared, and engaged in the work it was born to do. This is to say I would be a writer, speaker, and teacher on spiritual matters.
When I say spiritual matters, I don't mean matters of church, faith, or religion. I work with the FACTS of the human spirit and no faith is required. There are many theologies and religions, but only one set of common threads that can be explored and empowered until the 'dream' that you were born to live and share with others becomes your reality.
The challenge is that most of us tend to have those components of the Spirit broken along the way by otherwise well meaning parents, teachers, schools, workplace dynamics, "movements" in fields of psychology and faith, Religion and even Christianity. My work is not about religion, or even about Christianity, although I have been tremendously shaped by having come to where I am by a road that includes a deep immersion into what is called the Christian Church. But please note, I can't call myself a Christian, based on what that has come to mean in today's world of hollywood style churches, power seeking ministries, or politicized faith movements.
I will call myself "A Christ" - or "a god" (demi-god in part and part of THE GOD).
PLEASE HOLD THE CRITICISM!
I did not say I am THE GOD, though I fully argue that I participate in that BEing too. I am a student of the Holy Bible, and many other holiness or sacred teachings, which I will collectively refer to as HOLY BLUEPRINTS. I am personally a follower of the teachings of Christ, and am elevated to my own godhood by his teachings. Jesus said we are no longer servants, but brothers - joint heirs in the kingdom. I did not seek to be his equal but he made it so. The brother of a God is a God, no? Can there be anything simpler to understand? If you would want to doubt this, and come from a tradition where my claim seems too much, then please note that Paul said, "I no longer live but Christ lives in me." The Bible itself says, "Do you not know that you are gods?" Look it up! Other great masters of spirit have taught similarly, and I could go on, but I am saving all that for another teaching opportunity.
What I have to share is not just for Christians, nor is it about Christianity.
I will not explain GOD in my work, but when I observe it at work in your situation I will reveal a clearly observed power which transcends reason. I argue that this power is given by our CREATOR - by whatever name you wish to call him, her, or it. Most either deny it or project it so far outside themselves that they cannot harness and use it. Few have learned to master their own creative power. I acknowledge that THE CREATOR is the architect of this faculty, this power available to the human Spirit. I depend on THE CREATOR to continue to function for good. (This means I depend on Him to continue to do good, and it also means I depend on him to help me function for good as well) But I do not teach religion.
My work is to help you develop Personal Power, Spirit Power by helping you become the spirit you were created to be. The Secret To Living Out Our Own Divinity comes from this.
In the highest and best use of the words, I intend for you to develop spiritual power. This is because I AM and YOU ARE. My God + Your God = Our God. There is only one.
